Today I felt very bad and tired most of the day. Couple possiblities:
a) Because I didn’t have the morning run
- Any adventure needs risk, and as such I sustained a mild injury to my neck when I fell out of a tree yesterday :) (It felt immensley better when I woke up today, 99% chance the pain’ll be completely gone in 2 days.) anyway i skipped the run to heal. Neverthless I should have prioritised the morning sunlight and walked the route anyway.
- I woke up at 6:20 originally and was really tired and went back to sleep for another 2h~ . Could be because of going to sleep too early? Homeostatic running out too quickly, before circadian phase sleep satisfied leaving me groggy?
b) Because I didn’t take afternoon caffeine (as decided in day 20)
- This isn’t fun. I like caffeine. I like the dopamine. I don’t recall any particular insomnia from taking caffeine post 14:00 aside from feeling fatigued the next day. Something something caffeine in blood during sleep make sleep bad?
c) Caffeine Tolerance development
- this may explain the increased general fatigue over the past couple days too. Haven’t been feeling much by keeping dose stable. May up to 100mg morning, but don’t want to push back homeostatic best nap opportunity.
Microdose caffeine after getting up at like 16:00? like 12.5mg? I’m hesistant because it’s a massive pain to chop up caffeine that tiny, and it’s imprecise. Is a good idea? Probably.
The long term benefits of developing an ability to nap must be *immense* to outweigh the loss in mood and productivity a lack of afernoon caffeine causes.
